Please Don'T Push

Don't push me, please,
Pushing and shoving,
Could start a feud,
A feud that would never be,
If you hadn't intimidated me.

Why are you so spiteful,
What has angered you?
It is not progressive,
If I were to push you too.

Why did you need to push me?
When I don't even know your name,
I do not want to retaliate,
In your silly game.

One day you may push another,
Who feels the same as you.
And cause a situation,
That puts you in a stew.

Which could start a fight,
More dangerous than before.
This silly game you play
Could eventually lead to war.

"Why did you need to push me? When I don't even know your name, I do not want to retaliate, In your silly game." This is curious, but I imagine these days not that farfetched.

We get pushed in many ways not always physically....

80-odd years ago, Americans carried weapons and used them to provide food for their family, so we knew what they could do. But generations since then were raised on TV and movies, where people rapidly recover from wounds - and death! Perhaps COVID-19 was sent to remind people life is precious?

That's true Rico, I agree Covid-19 was sent for a reason, sadly there are too many people who can't see reaon or don't choose too. It is beyond my understanding why this is so. Thank you, for your comments,

I wonder why you wrote this, Shirley, is it you have been bullied here on soup, or is it about life that is getting more and more aggressive?

Thank you, For your welcome comment, Harry. Oh dear, it never crossed my mind that the poem could have read that way, I am not aware of any bullying on soup. It seems to me of late that life is getting more and more aggresive, maybe at 84 I am just a miserable old lady. Hope you are having a good day. All best wishes...Shirley
