Playground

I run and jump and skip around Go flying up into the air Landing back on solid ground I’m completely without care I feel the breeze caress my face As I quickly jog along Down narrow leafy country lanes Listening to the wild birds song I swim in river dammed with stones To form a deep dark pool Watch lazily from half closed eyes As I lay on the grass to cool Yet I have not even left my chair Because in fact I’m blind All of this has taken place In the playground in my mind

As I was reading this poem Andy I had pictures in my mind of when I was a child and then when I got to the end I felt ashamed, as a person who cannot see I felt a lump welling in my throat and I thought of a blind person, how awful it must be, thank you for the read my friend. Take care................Vera.............

Thank you Vera for your kind words, we are so lucky in so many ways and the gift of sight is such a blessing to watch the rainbow form on a stormy summer evening or watch a duck on the river with her brood.... the list is endless. Give the big fella a hug from me and tell him to give you one back Andy
