Plant a Tree For Me

Plant a tree for me, bury me at its base, Look for me and you will see, my spirit at this place. Life renews every spring, so it is easy to reason, It is a God thing, with every passing season. Long, long after my death, the birds will sing for me, After I have left, my spirit will live in this tree. So plant a tree for me, may it grow strong and tall, For all the world to see, the beauty for us all.

Timothy, as one who plants roses in memory of a loved one, your poem gave me hope that their spirit survives. Hope truly exudes from your lovely write. Congratulations on your win. There were many wonderful entries to this contest and nearly all of them were difficult to rank. Best wishes, Carolyn
