Plain Sight

I see the grit
You cannot hide
It won’t quite fit
On the inside

You may fool most
In attempt to conceal
But, more than host
I can feel

I wish it weren’t so
And I couldn’t see through
It’s best not to know
Why you do what you do

But I read your smile
It’s so plain to see
Though fun for a while
Now it irritates me
