Pink Or Blue
Are you a girl? Or are you a boy?
This answer still lies unknown.
Your sanctuary is the waters of my swollen belly
between us are skin and bone.
Will you bake mud pies in a make-believe stove?
Wear a frilly pink dress and Mary Jane shoes?
Don a big brim hat on top of your head,
Serving dollie tea, set for two?
Perhaps you’ll zoom by,
driving a push-peddle car,
sounding that little boy brrroom, brrroom noise.
Pretend to go on adventures to the wild wild west
fighting Indians with the other, cowboys.
It’s been so arduous to linger, wonder and wait.
I’m not partial to who’s, living within my womb.
My only desire ,may the Lord built you strong, my love.
Girl or boy, that mystery will unveil itself soon.
