Pin Drop
POEM "PIN DROP" by martin gedge
Be god, almighty
lend me your time
for I am a salesman's suitcase of suffering
to pitch such sweet pain
and divine tyranny
for every pin that sticks my skin
is a dagger
of a soul that sees a future
in a small golden box
bigger than life itself
but with oh such dark rewards
you see hate in my hollow heart
while I see pleasure
this side that you seek in me
is my relentless ambition to fold darkness
around the bodies of doubt
we need not care for the morsels
of good nature
for it is our will
to see trophies dine at the tables of creatures
such as us
every night there is a new shadow
that dresses our closets
and every claw on every knob
awaiting doors to be opened
and presses against glass panes
to bring your world to me
and in the saddest moments
and through the quietest times
one twist and one turn
I will smile upon this throne
and the dark shall have it's day....
