Pillar

Standing pillars mean nothing to most
but the house that stood here did host
many guests from far and near
they would share a glass of wine or beer
to celebrate their simple life
being farmers had little strife
Talk of politics was rarely spoken
sunsets on the porch they would soak in
Calloused hands were rough on the outside
their hearts were warm on the inside
The house may have not lasted the many years
but the memories still invoke many of cheers.
