Breakups.......Can Cut Like Glass But May Never Heal!

She said......... As he walked out he said...it is over! I should have took it on the chin But his sudden words...could not be colder! I guess I took it on my heart instead Now I'm picking up the pieces Lord knows..it's not easy Going through the broken parts of push and shove 'Trying to find some pieces..... of love He had my heart wrapped around his finger I watched him take it off of his left hand Then he threw it down in a fit of anger! My heart feels like a thousand grains of sand! And I'm picking up the pieces Lord knows..it's not easy Going through the broken parts of push and shove 'Trying to find some pieces..... of love These sharp edges cut me to the bone 'Bleeding through each moment....of alone I'm still picking up the pieces....... You captured the painful sharpness of a breakdown with a most able pen, Chuck! Excellent lyrics which are eagerly waiting for someone to put them to music. Regards // paul

They call it heaetbreak for a good reason Chuck. You convey that so well in this emotive piece. Tenderly and beautifully composed! xxoo

I absolutely love this poem; the word choices, the phrasing, imagery - all combine in a dramatic, emotive and cleverly delivered feel that is easy to relate to. The emotion is palatable - an excellent write! Poetry hugs ... CayCay
