Pictures Painted On My Mind
I have a little paintbrush
that dabbles in my mind
creating its own versions
of what my eyeballs find.
Soft chill of mist on swaying frond
challenging a sun warm dawn
grey ghosts dancing on the pond
rippling dance of bass in spawn
Eerie windblown tree limb creep
dappled shade - fawns camouflage
daubed upon the brownish green
a welcoming - no cover charge.
Dull hum - the Romeo’s of spring
harrumphs and buzzes, on the wing
repeating lines from nature’s script
painted by Spring’s brush - fresh dipped
