Pictures of the Heart

Paint a picture with a word.
Look into the story heard.

Make your brush stroke with a pen.
Find the canvas deep within.

What do you see? What do you feel?
I believe that it is real.

Don't let the fear steal your song.
For none else knows if it is wrong.

It doesn't even matter if you cannot keep time,
Or even if your words don't sound alike.

What we want is from the heart.
Now it taint alway neat or smart;

But if it's from the depths of you
No complaints, cause you've been true.

If not, please listen as I reveal
The things I've found that I now feel.

I paint a picture with a word.
Look into the story heard.
