Pictures

Pictures… I’m shutting out the world today As reality rears its head A venomous slice of life, I’m fading Far into the red, land of the dead We can’t get a handle on the life we’re living We never talk long enough to see And though I want to paint a pretty picture That picture won’t include me Four walls as a frame I’m hanging Life within the cage And though I want to paint a pretty picture I’m not included on the page Shadows on the wall I’m watching Of someone I can’t see I can’t place the face and it’s hard to erase The torment inside of me…

I know there is a glimmer, a spark of light where darkness lies.. I feel a sigh, as so deeply you write... Can't say I haven't had some of these feelings in my lifetime, but I am glad they are past me. I could relate to some of your expressions.. Know that when people let you down, and get under your skin.. God, The Great I Am is promised to Always Be There... reach out, and the gift of such awesome love lives through faith especially for you.(sorry, got carried away) Cindy Lu

This is a great poem. The pictures that we paint in our mind are totally different then the ones that life paints for us. Thanks for sharing. Lucilla

reminds me of my middle and high school years. Never completely give in to the darkness, there's always hope! :)
