Picture You In My Heart

I picture you in my heart
I close my eyes to see you and the World goes dark.
A memory of you I carry in my soul,
I wrap it close around me
For protection when the nights are so cool.
If you ask how I am, I'll say "I'm just fine"'.
                       But the truth is......
If you could read my mind,
                   You would know this....
Not a day goes by that I don't think of you.
You raised us the best you could.
You taught us many things in life,
How to be caring, kind and good.
                But you never taught us
                      How to cope
With the hurt of losing you.
