Picture This
Take me to my wonderful past!
Where the silent snow fell ever so gently.
And Christmas lights, decorated many homes,
As shards of multi-colored, brilliant glass!
Where real, joyful people dressed in finery.
Sang and actually spoke to one another
Not texting on their phones,
Nor at the maniacal TV staring,
Where hearts once connected and people hugged,
I really do mean with each other,
Not with the family cat or charming dog?
Those cherished days are never coming back!
Why be a fool in a hopeless trance,
I am waiting for the destruction of all schools and
churches.
Here come the power mad leaders.
Zoom school for all, playgrounds closed?
Don't try to play Little League, you might get arrested
Or get a broken nose?
The Pope hasn't the courage to demand churches be opened?
In league with politicians, he is pushing their Trojan Horse,
That by a vaccination~~our salvation. when all taken?
To then live under yet more fear and domination!
One cannot serve two masters and ever be free.
I know I am talking to myself, don't you see?
People will drool over a gold and black honey bee.
But I know, unflinchingly, sadly, they no longer have...
the will to be free!
