Picked Up

Alone in the dark
I've never felt so apart
He was out of sight
Disappeared in the night

When I awoke
I was in a weird place
He was a stranger
With a familiar face

He picked me up
After I was down
He had a smile
I had a frown

He was strong willed
Could not be broken
I was enthralled
I had not spoken

When he walked away
I had nothing to say
He had shown me the way
I was out of the fray

Free to walk
Free to talk
A new life
Without strife
Eternally bound
To god's sound

Now follow along
Can you see?
This new life
Inside of me
