Phone Contacts I Won't Yet Delete

One is named “Another Unfortunately Not to Contact”,
Still with the mugshot at which we giggled.
I try to see what he had as a passing joke,
But he respected that I seriously don’t want to smoke.
He’ll always suit jackets that jingle.

Another’s named “Hurts to Contact”.
We met at a drawing group.
On first word, we clicked.
Their artwork is lit.
We’ve shared our final packet of Hula Hoops.

Another is just a number.
Together, we sang “Hey Jude”.
We watched “Gavin and Stacey”.
He made perfect pastry.
We’ll always love music and food.

As for you,
“Everything Will Be Alright”
Is how your sibling’s number is saved,
Whose buzzcut I used to shave –
Hair that won’t outgrow my memory’s sight.

Your contact is still Luka ??!
With a smiley and exclamation mark.
We are still in touch,
But I think of you too much –
Our conversations heart wrenching to park.

Wow, I fell into this and hit so many spots on the way down. Wit mixed with sincere emotions of longing and could have beens and hauntings of what was and wasn't. Seems to me you are on a human journey and being honed to shine by sitting and absorbing and writing poetry therapy. You're going to be better than fine. Good writing, and hello, I don't think we've met. CayCay

Dear CayCay, This is such a massive compliment, thanks CayCay for your wonderful first comment on my page. I'm glad my poem has been read how I wanted it to be, and it is certainly poetry therapy. Thanks as well for the reassurance that I'm going to be better than fine. Poetry sure is essential for my wellbeing, so I'm ever grateful that I'm able to write! Terry
