Persuading the Mind

As we look out on to our world
there’s so much tragedy all around
so many life’s torn and heartbroken
there seems little hope to be found

But we have the weapon in our hand
our ink filled pen fully ready to go
to make our proclamation loud and clear
for the side of truth we strike a blow

The mind of mankind is openly available
we may think it looks so utterly shut
but it can be opened by our writings
for we can be the key to their rut

This world was created for good reason
that man would acknowledge their creator
to see how wonderful God’s plan is
showing people are not just loads of data

For each has been made in God’s image
individually gifted to do His sovereign will
in that state knowing true peace and joy
walking close to Jesus in His presence still

So persuading the mind however hard
our words chosen can penetrate through
opening up the vastness that there is
so one life changed shows God is true
