Persistant Prelude
An island, desolate, alone
floting in a patch
of clouds
You, stranded, alone
standing at the brink
of that island
A path
a molten path of gold
emerges
you're there
at the end of every end
the beginning of
every falsehood
No lies to blindfold
No hatred to grope
the thread that started
from you
Always tread
that golden stepm
the last step
Push open any doors
that are ahead
Eyes squint, light fades
begin to step and step on
you can shed your tears
mumble your fears
sing out your hopes
and warble your victories
Still,
your feet are broken by stones
your morale crumbles
into nonexistence
Sometimes,
The feeling to fall
and bawl
is overwhelming
but don't
your hopes should be a key
to the never ending sorrows
the thorn that's stuck
that won't
come
out
But beware
Every step may lead to a trap
to be wary of
Every spoken word is a lure
to be cautious of
Every prelude
is your downfall
Even if you tire
Even if you sob
even if...
even if?
DO NOT STUMBLE!
DO NOT FALL!
DO NOT FAIL YOURSELF!
Broken wings,
Broken hope,
no chance
of walking again
so, irreparable
will they mend?
though you fall,
though you stumble,
though you wear down,
remember that path
you set forth towards
Hands groping in the intangible noir
the cascade of onyx rays
the raven silk
the livid hope
Do you not realize
you must embrace your failures?
Hands stretched out,
legs so unstable
like a colt
sweat like a waterfall
Grap your
fate
Ever tread
on
Never forget
