Persecution Road

Again I look inside myself And don’t discover me It’s more than just the first world war It’s now a tragedy. They say I am so many things Then leave me high and dry I am abused still everywhere Although I want to try. My heart remains so broken It can never heal itself This is the worst way possible To be left on the shelf. Persecution reigns supreme Because you know it’s true, I do what they do better Than they could ever do. So they take my mind And use it - profit from it too Then guarantee rejection By influencing you Someone said the truth will out But as the doors keep closing I fear that all is lost now Even singing is imposing.

Hi Marilyn...I have been reading some of your poems, including this one. Life is no bed of roses; it's covered in thorns..it's smooth and rough...with highs and lows...with love and hate...friendship and deceit. Never give up even when the current appears to be too strong.
