Perhaps

If only the sun would rise, Would I, perhaps, see it for a while? Would I cast my light in the dark, And make the stone-dark world spark? If the ignorant souls find their way, If the frozen man warms with the ray. If humanity finds its need fulfilled, Then, perhaps, mankind’s fate will be revealed. At that moment, like a child, I’ll rejoice, And once again, I’ll raise my voice. With words as sweet as a spring’s flow, I’ll quench the thirst of hearts that know.
