Perhaps

Perhaps is such a tentative word
A voice, perhaps, one never heard,
The kiss that might have begun
A song now forgotten, once sung
The dream once borne in strife,
Not realized in the failures of life
Perhaps, with best wishes sown,
Bidding farewell never truly known.
