Perhaps.....................
If it remains unspoken perhaps
we can pretend it doesn't exist?
If it remains in a dream perhaps
we can never shut our eyes to sleep.
If we ignore it, perhaps it will melt away,
and nestle in the crevices of memory
until life has moved us on and
it is safe to acknowledge its presence.
If we avoid 'aloneness' and dwell
in a world of diversion and shallow
conversation, perhaps we may never
need to speak the truth.
If I don't touch you,
perhaps you'll never feel
how you touch me, here, in my heart.
Perhaps its best to stay apart......
