Perfume Just For You
Oh dear I’m in a quandary
As I wait upon the quay
For you went on a fishing boat
To catch some fish for you and me
On this our anniversary
But you’ve been gone so many hours
I’m scared I start to quiver
Like the French Lieutenant’s woman
I stand looking out to sea
On this quaint old fishing harbour
I must not weep ~ I must stand strong
For she had poise and dignity
But deep inside I’m screaming
And oh so full of penance
I cry did I do something wrong
Come back my love where you belong
Then as I look into the sky I see a shining light
Just like the hue of platinum a precious silvery white
A speck on the horizon ~ please tell me it is you
For underneath my long fur coat I wear just perfume just for you
My Darling Boy it is my anniversary gift to you
The speck gets closer ~ I can see you coming into view
Waving something in the air ~ it sure looks like a matching pair
It’s one for me and one for you ~ Oh my sweet boy I do love you…
