Perfection

The beauty of the spider web
Glistening in morning sun
Exquisite scale of length and width
Perfection for everyone

Who taught the spider how to spin?
How do they know where to go?
Attaching threads to each other
Designs from within they can sew

Snuggling within their cradle
Some people shy away
But so great is the creation
I hope they have come to stay

Mornings I’ll check, seeing their home
And had dinner the night before
They see me watching, staying still
Fascination I don’t ignore

The winds caress the branch they’re on
Swaying their sparkling thread
Beckoning bugs to come and stay
Their fate is what they dread

One species feeding another
The balance is undisturbed
Coordination of give and take
Mysterious nature’s ways preserve
