Perfect Shells
They say I’m good for nothing
and I do it really well.
I like walking down a sunny beach
looking for shells to sell.
Margarita in my hand
Buffett playing in my head.
I would have been here sooner
but couldn’t get out of bed.
Yesterday was like today,
sunny and really bright and before I knew it….
it was the middle of the night.
I was with someone wonderful,
at least that’s how it felt.
Woke up in the afternoon
never knowing where she went.
My pockets all were empty,
my mind was almost spent.
Guess it’s time to hit the beach again
and look for those perfect shells,
since I’m good for nothing else
but I do that really well.
