Perfect Day To Die

It was a July morning and cardinals were singing
When heaven opened up and angels came to get me awake
I smelled lavender, and saw dew on the grass
When the spiritual realm opened in the far off daybreak

I had never seen such a gloriously wonderful sight.
It held my interest as I sipped my last few sips of coffee.
My guide came to get me; he was ever so pretty and bright.
I did not have time to tell goodbye to my darling Geoffrey.

When you get a daybreak like this, you do not realize
The significance, it just seems like a perfect day in your mind.
However, those angels have wings that take you by surprise.
You are soon in another realm, enjoying more of your kind.

Love this Caren although I’ve never given much thought to what type of day I want to die on, other than one where it’s unbearable to live, when depression has me within its grasp, is that what you mean in your comment below, when you decide to die cheers David

I had a feeling you didn’t mean it literally, it almost sounded like you had a date in some Swiss euthanasia clinic heaven forbid, but you cleared it up with good humor cheers David

Hahaha I love your take on my comment. I truly do think we make a pact before we arrive from heaven on what day we will die.

Interesting lines penned. We know you did not die because you wrote this so must be from being around a love one who passed. Sara
