Pepper
Last night I was sitting in my room
I sit there and I cried
I couldn't forget about that four-year old little girl
I couldn't forget no matter how hard I tried.
I was just riding the bus
Like I usually do
She looked so sad
I said, " Is something wrong with you?"
She said, " I miss my mom and dad."
I said, " Where'd they go?"
She looked like she was about to cry
And then I thought, "Oh no!"
That's when she told me
And no matter how hard I tried
I couldn't stop the tears from coming
When she told me her parents had died.
Now what she told me
If it is true
Then just be thankful you have parents
And that it didn't happen to you.
(True Story)
Dedicated to Pepper.
