People Thank In Different Ways

She gushed and groveled and thanked me time and again.
For a small gesture, taking a speck of dust off her chin.
He on the other hand never said a word.
Although I gave him a million dollar gift.
Both instances a tiny bit absurd.

Some people bend over backwards in all kinds of ways
To preen and primp and provide way too much praise.
Others take advantage, and then act all tough
and angry because what you give them is never enough.

If any gift is given with love a sincere Thank you is enough. My husband and I where overcome by the kindness shown to us both this week by the volunteers of Meals on Wheels. They gave as a christmas bag with the most thoughtful contents inside, we felt like children opening our christmas stocking. It brought tears of happiness to my eyes. It was a twofold gift to me as it warmed my heart and restored my faith in human nature. loved your poem, Caren

"True" Some are happy with a small gift filled with love. Some want it all with or without the love. I sent an e-mail to a friend. I was telling her thanks for what she had done. She e-mailed back and said, no one but no ones ever thanks me for anything I do. You are the first. I read it and I cried. So very sad. Have a blessed day............
