Penned Behind Bars

Thoughts
Trapped
Inside
Behind bars
Scales tipped unbalanced
Lack of harmony breeds this chord
Caged word's rhythmic pounding amplifies a deep, dark funk
Deliverance awaits, the blues scribbled into wall graffiti, notes penned behind bars

Thank you, Andrea. It was my first attempt at a fibonacci form. Not easy. Especially that darn last line. Thanks for stopping in and for your wonderful comments of encouragement.

Rhoda I love how you've done this; sometimes not being able to write is the only thing we can write about. Great write!

Well done with this very well delivered Fibonacci, Rhoda. This could be metaphorical; no need to be behind bars to write these words...some people could feel confined in the life they're living...but a positive outlook could soon lead to deliverance. ~ Warm regards // paul

Thank you so much, Paul. I appreciate you helping me to remember the name of this poetry form. We reap what we sow, so a positive attitude reaps positive results. In due time, I'm sure. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

Rhoda, sometimes my thoughts are locked inside as well and I go for days without writing anything, then some trigger magically release them and they spew forth. John

While it's not nice to wish it on another, it's good to hear others suffer this malady. Lol. Thanks, John

You nailed the feeling of being penned in. I feel this way at times as well. A prison in my mind. Good thing you write to escape!

Yessss. Sometimes the thoughts are trapped inside and I can't find the proper words to release them. You interpreted it spot on. Thank you, James.

Perhaps you are thinking of others, Rhoda--who may be less fortunate.

Perhaps. I do feel sorry for those incarcerated during the holidays. Not sure exactly why my muse went in this direction.
