Pendulous Abdomen

Pendulous abdomen. The term used for those women who bear multiple children. Too many, too soon. No time for tummy to reconcile, recoil. Back into shape. And so it swings. Often times limbs are visable under skin. Tight like a drum. Irish Mum. No contraception allowed. Poor thing. Must let it swing. Pendulous abdomen.

Wow, this is sad! A woman needs time between births to regain her shape. Some never do. I have four myself but spaced out enough for me to bounce back. ; )

My three were precision planned Connie, three years apart. I started of as an "elderly primagravida" (first time mother) at thirty. Nowadays, that term would apply to a forty year old.

I know of two families, one with 19 and one with 22 children Arthur.

made me smile but the final stanza made me sad Jean. I've only had one and still got my jelly belly but i wouldn't change a thing lol:-) hugs jan xx

I know Jan. And I have a proud jelly belly too. But in the past here, with contraception banned, families of ten children were commonplace. A close friend of mine is the youngest of twelve.
