I Wish to Watch a Rain Like This, With You
I wish(ed) to watch a rain like this, with you,
As if the rain was falling just for you
The first drop lands upon your face,
And in that moment, time itself slows its pace.
I long to see you close your eyes,
As raindrops fall from heavy skies.
And I would stand, lost in the view,
As if rain was made to fall on you.
In that moment, the world would cease,
The winds grow quiet, the heavens at peace.
As if the universe took a breath so deep,
And watched you smile, in rain, half-asleep.
No need for words, no need for sound,
Just your presence, the rain all around.
Your hand in mine, the world faded away,
And in your touch,my love, i found my way..
So yes, I wish to watch a rain like this with you,
When every drops seems drawn towards you
Where every drop that kisses your skin,
Feels like where my soul has always been.

From between a territory of anticipation and memory.A future memory. Something written for a specific person rather than for an audience. And strangely enough, those pieces often survive longer. Humans are sentimental creatures. They keep old movie tickets, dried flowers, screenshots of conversations, and poems about rain. An impressive commitment to emotional archaeology and I love this about them. The Rain is never a weather, it's a witness, a participant.
Maybe for the day , when we'll witness a baarish together for the first time...
