Pedigree Cuisine

Perhaps for dinner you might try
A steak and veggie plate
Or some chicken wrapped in nori,
Such a treat to masticate!

At some eateries, the menus
Are creative as food gets,
Which is really a surprise because
The customers are pets.

San Francisco’s restaurant “Dogue”
And Manhattan’s “Judy Z’s”
Offer rawhide bones and cupcakes,
All with canine tastes to please.

Though I understand that owners
Love their dogs, I must admit
Fancy dog meals in a restaurant 
Just seems inappropriate.

Maurice Rigoler April 30, 2023 at 4:34 PM In Paris (as I found out a few years ago when here) diners are allowed to bring their dogs in and sit either under the table or by their chair. And – believe it or not – if the dog poops, the management will scoop it up. Now that's service. Enjoyed your poem. / Maurice

Gary Radice April 30, 2023 at 1:50 AM I walked past a Dogs' Bakery in Liverpool last week. The cakes looked lovely until I realised they were meant for dogs. Restaurants just for dogs have yet to make it over the pond..I think..but it wont take long methinks. It brings new meaning to the (British) term 'dog's dinner' doesn't it? :) Cheers - Gary

Gershon Wolf April 29, 2023 at 8:19 PM How about those fancy restaurants in assisted living places these days?! In NYC, for between 15 and 35K a month (!) rent, you can have a 5-star chef cook all your meals. -- You can also go bankrupt very quickly, methinks.

Daniel Turner April 28, 2023 at 3:53 PM One can only assume the only folks who go there would be folks who love dogs or have dogs. I personally would not take my dog there because dog food is expensive enough. I like the poem. Different strokes for different folks. Im not going to judge. Have a great weekend Ilene.
