Pedestal of Love

Was I not an apple of your eye
Securely placed in the pedestal of your love
Washed with the showers of your affections
Housed in the confines of your heart

For a while I was your beginning and ending
The truth known to your lips
Implanted in your veins
Beating along with your pulse

I was a joy to behold
A treasure worth to be told
Yet time stole my shine
I am no longer your smile

Once upon a glorious time
In not so far place and time
Were we not birds of the same feather
Flying with each other's wind

I was in the pedestal of your love
Securely placed in the sacredness of your heart
Now I am a sore to your eyes
A sharp sting to your heart

Was I not a song on your lips
A joyful sweet feeling to sip
You use to clutch me to your heart
Hold me as if never to let go

What happened to the love
Who stole all our shine
I cannot longer feel the warmth of your love
So lonely is my flight

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Have a blessed day.
