Peaches In the Desert?
Of all things to try
Oh heck, why not
An orchard in the desert
Is what we've got.
A coupla years ago
We bought some land
Bulldozed it free of sagebrush
Dug 100 holes by hand
A tub of water
On a tower high
Was how we watered
Hoses spread wide
Planted more trees
Pumped water from a canal
Laying more hoses
Buying another trowl
900 trees and growing
An orchard in the desert heat
This is where we'll retire
Tree ripened peaches to sell and eat.
So proud of my parents.
