Peace On Earth

Think back of little boys and girls Tiny faces, lots of curls Growing strong and smarter too Throughout the years whoever knew, They’d join the ranks as women and men With guns in hand to free our land, We sit and wait and watch and hope Say prayers, have faith, and hear our Pope, Religious groups they gather strong In hopes the Gods will hear their song, Its peace we want on earth this day But guns and trouble come our way, The world we know is changing fast At this rate peace will never last, Among us prayer and racial tension Loss of life, in news they mention, Where are the days when life was good? No guns, no fear, and live we would, As things get worse we buy a gun Protect our family, never run, But what we do is getting worse We see our loved ones in a hearse, People should die at a ripe old age Not from guns, or cancer or a victim of rage, Holidays were days of ‘cheer’ Where now the sentiment is fear, So hold your loved ones, hug them tight Give up the guns and stop the fight, Remove the fears and anger too Teach your children what we once knew, To understand the Human worth And share the love and Peace on Earth
