Peace of Mind
Shadows of trees at my back,
Sitting on the shore line is where I am at.
Hook, line and sinker,
My thoughts tend to flow freer.
Storm clouds out on the horizon,
The fish around me start biting.
One after two after three after four,
My thoughts are at ease as the storm grows closer.
Rain starts falling and the fish disappear,
The storm is upon me, but I show no fear.
Rain hits my face and everything around,
The thunder rolls on and drowns out all sound.
I have fallen into silence as the storm passes,
The demon in my head no longer lashes.
It’s time to go home and the night is coming,
My mind is at peace, another day behind me.
