Peace Lingers

Where everything turns into tomorrow,
living in the land of once begotten time,
seeing yesterday was merely borrowed,
leaves shallow imprints upon our mind.

Lost in the hourglass of mindful illusions,
traveling in time to get from here to there,
wants and desires bring blurred confusion,
amidst a ray of sun from who knows where.

From rags to riches, glittering silver to gold,
people and places seem to justify acts of war,
reality often differs from the story that is told,
hearing the knocking, no one opens the door.

Shadows cast from the mountain ever so high,
daylight’s glow diminishes in the coming night,
what is and what is not, so many questions why,
where the power and greed control what is right.

Forgotten journey lost in rainbows of the sun,
holding wonder, contentment and lasting love,
where peace lingers before life is forever done,
beyond the skies of blue lies the heavens above
