Peace I Leave With You My Friend
It was late on Sunday night, the time that we all dread
That fear we have to fight that goes rumbling around our head
Soon we are tossing and turning as Work dominates our mind
As the clock keeps turning it is peace we are unable to find
All night we lie there awake so worried about what is to come
And soon we are about to break as our bodies now become numb
That time is getting so close and there’s nothing that we can do
It’s always the same weekly dose, this is certainly nothing new
But that week was so different I slept straight through the night
And oh how Monday morning went
Everything just seemed so right
So when I got home that day I praised Jesus’ Name for the Gift
And I must say just in the doing of this I received another lift
I felt so good inside when suddenly I felt this intense need to cry
It was Jesus there by my side comforting and holding me as I lie
That was the joy inside of me that was the peace that gave me rest
Ever since He has kept me free so I in turn can give Jesus my best
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
