peace child war child
eerie silence fills the night
as the days smoke rises in sight
a day of terror filled the air
drones exploding without a care
men with guns patrol the street
as children search for food to eat
my camera as my weapon is raised to my face
i capture a child in this war ravaged place
barely human anymore
her soul is crushed to the core
her mother dead , her father detained
only her sister is all that remained.
a loud explosion crashes the night
it fills the sky with fear and fright
again they come those birds of war
as the children,s tears drip blood to the floor
all she wants is something to eat
as merciless soldiers gather in the street
shooting at children without a care
i cant believe they just don,t care
my only weapon my camera is aimed
a soldier fires on me as he knows hes been named.
taking the bullet i look around
i see the girl as she hits the ground
still holding her baby sister so very tight
i watch as the angels pull them to the light
i close my eyes as i am shot again
by a merciless coward in the end
as politicians and generals shout orders to kill
i wondered if it was just for their thrill
for what kind of man finds peace in war
the new age demon has taken the floor
in the end their power will fade
as they answer to god their path will be laid
