Pay Attention

SADLY, I SIT IN MY BEDROOM
MY TEARS ROLLING DOWN MY CHEEKS
THINKING ABOUT THE PEOPLE I'VE LOST
AND I HAVEN'T THOUGHT OF THEM IN WEEKS

IT SEEMS LIKE MY MINDS BEEN ON AUTO DRIVE
THE DAYS WERE JUJST PASSING BY
I LOOK BACK TO TRY TO SEE A MEMORY
BUT THERE'S NOTHING, AND I DON'T KNOW WHY

I KNOW I'VE GONE HERE AND DONE THIS OR THAT
THEY WERE JUST REGULAR THINGS I HAD TO DO
BUT WHERE WAS MY LIFE OF ANY SUBSTANCE
WHAT THOUGHTS OR EMOTIONS DID I GO THROUGH?

I'VE REALLY NOT BEEN PAYING ATTENTION
TO MYSELF OR MY LIFE AS IT IS
I NEED TO BE MORE IN THE PRESENT
BEFORE ANY MORE DAYS GO BY IN A WHIZ!
