Pause In Yesterday

Pausing in yesterday’s shadow
with the steps now rusty of dreams,
dust covered film over rainbow,
the surrender filled with dark streams.

With the steps now rusty of dreams,
overwhelmed, cut off seeking more
as silence echoes time’s mourning
and leaks through the memory door.

Dust covered film over rainbow
resembles the heart’s broken part.
A healing and cleansing needed
to restore its shine back to art.

The surrender filled with dark streams,
covered bridges frozen in snow...
All melting as spring has begun
pausing in yesterday’s shadow.

Hi Janet. I don't think we've met, but your poems rock. Nicely done, my friend. Stop by sometime. Mel :)

Very poignant write hope succeeding, Janet. The form you have chosen is quite new to me.

There is a reflection of sadness in this poem, and yet it ends with a glimmer of hope
