Pat's Cat
there once was a cat
who sat, and he sat
like a king, in his hat
a king, so very fat
was this cat
in his hat
as he sat.
his owner, named Pat
saw him sit, as he sat
so still, not e'en a rat
would notice him in his hat
as he sat
so very fat
was this cat
in his hat.
neither bat nor gnat
could understand that
which sat as he sat
by the door on a mat
that cat
in his hat
so fat
as he sat.
Pat thought him a brat
for, as a king, he sat
not bothered to chat
with fish or with rat
he only sat
with his fat
in a hat
on his mat.
one day he begat
the babies of that
which are female and cat
in frustration, Pat spat
at the cat
on the mat
in the hat.
no longer round was the cat
rather, her belly was flat
like a queen, she now sat
surrounded by that
which came of the fat
in the cat
on the mat
who sat in her hat
mistaken for a tomcat.
