Pastels

Pastel painting
Our world to grey
Twisting and turning
Through another day

Passing through the shadows
Of words unspoken
Speaking empty promises
Made to be broken

Living through
Another day
Of our society's
Moral decay

Is this all that life
Could really be
Freedom of man
Are we truly free?
