Past Societies Way
oceans of fear,
waves of doubt,
faith to climb,
mountains abound,
trecherous winds to pull me down,
dangerous pathways i have found,
rise up from the past, look into the present,
grab ahold of my god, look up to the heavens,
never look down, keep pushing ahead,
yesterdays gone, your past is dead,
who you are now, what you could'nt see then,
means so much more now so keep looking ahead,
don't ponder your past, what once was so old,
leave room for the lord to reshape and remold,
understanding and grace he offers to you,
stay focused on him and watch what u do,
anger stems from fear, hate's never what it seems,
gently touch the hearts of the people so mean,
for you don't know their pain, what makes them this way,
between black and white lives an uncertain grey,
of what could be or should be, your mind will deceive,
their alternative lifestyles, their dissolutioned beliefs,
such beautiful hearts with disabled minds,
do you believe that you are the only one of the lord's kind?
he spoke to the outcasts, the crippled and maimed,
he showed them their beauty past society's way.
