Past Despair

Cut off from reason the thread of despair
Falling past angels and falling from care
Cut off from fighting the truth of my fear
Gave up my hope when I looked through past years

Pain and recall has buried my heart
Nothing can call it apart from my art
Self worth becomes weakened every time I can stand
I’ll look back once again just to fade into sand

Disconnected from feeling another one’s love
Only in loss does my pain come to shove
Connected to death and every last turn
My vampiric nature will still never learn

One more reason comes from one more of my rhymes
One last love is lost all of the time
One more decision was given up when I tried
But try as I will, my hope has already died

Blame it on childhood or blame it on me
Whatever the truth, my desire is far out at sea
I choose a lonely disparaged demise
Because I know that I’ve already died
