Passing the Time
Misfortune knocked upon my door.
And then someone pulled me ashore.
While they swam hard, I almost drowned.
And now I'm trying to gain lost ground.
When words are vague to mask the truth.
So as to not sound too uncouth.
The message can get misconstrued.
Where people may think that you're rude.
But if you have someone who knows.
The pain you're in and how it grows.
Maybe the message can get through.
To help you find what you should do.
Until that time when love does come.
I hide my heart until I'm numb.
And fill the page with senseless rhyme.
To help as I'm passing the time.
