Passages of Time
You are my mother,
and I love you so.
It was so very hard,
to let you go.
Through the years,
you've yelled at me,
and made me cry.
I didn't even bother,
to ask you why.
All these years,and
the hurt remains.
Memories of the past,
and all the pain.
My life at home,was
always such a strain.
The love from you,
I could not gain.
I tried very hard,
to please you.
But,nothing I did,
could appease you.
I sometimes wondered,
if I had been a boy,
If it wouldn't have given
you,a little more joy.
My dad, he loved me,
and I knew he did.
He loved me lots,
when I was a kid.
The love from you,now,
I will never get.
But, you and dad,I'll
never forget.
I hope there is,life
after death.
Maybe,I'll get another
chance,to take a deep
breath.
Just hold the gate,
open for me.
You and dad,I'll
surely come to see.
Next time around,I
hope is real good.
Maybe we can be a
family,likeI knew we
should.
