Passage of Time
PASSAGE OF TIME
The future lies long ago -
I will be a father, and
Our house will be solid and storm proof
Forty years ago.
Our children will be so good at school
Thirty years ago.
And become doctors and teachers
Twenty years ago.
We will retire last year -
We passed so many tomorrows
Seeding, growing, and planning
So many yesterdays.
