Part of Who We Are

We can't slow age or delay Wrinkles antique smiles they are It's part of who we are your age A unique patina our wrinkles we have, Don't diminish your worth so life engage For Roy Jerden's contest, "To Yoda, An Ode"

Sometimes we need to be reminded that growing old is a natural part of life. No matter if your go under the knife each year that goes by is added to your age. Your comment means a lot to me. Warm Smiles, Connie

Ha ha...I was a bit confused at first why you were writing this funny way? Then at the end it all made sence..It was for the contest... I C :o) Truth and wisdom be told, you can hide the world from your age,but you will still yet be old... :o) Loved it! Oh! And thank you for you kind comment on my "The Poet" poem.

Dan thank you for your delightful comment. I thought "To Yoda An Ode" would be fun to write, and I was watching the Emmys on TV. The older movie stars all nipped and tucked, holding off the age thing. Warm Smiles, Connie

Carrie thanks for your added wisdom. These movie stars that are 50 and up look so imperfect. Not a wrinkle and those much older stars I have to laugh. Who are they fooling, not the real down to earth people that see them on TV. They still have to take there clothes off at night and see their actual age. Warm Smiles, Connie

Thanks Andrea for your comment. I wrote this while watching the award show of the stars. The older ones look not normal. They still have to take there clothes off at night and see there real age. Must be a shock to their system to see their saggy skin in the mirror and look up to see their plastic like face. Warm Smiles, Connie

So many older actresses look like there plastic barbies but under their clothing they can't hide there age. I just had to express it in a poem. Thanks for stopping by. Warm Smiles, Connie
