Parents of Mine

Where did you go? the last time I recognized you was when I was four years old. Dad you left for work real early, after mom shoveled the snow.. I couldn't wait till you got home but one day after work you suddenly changed. You walked threw that door, I yelled "yeah daddy's home." Your usual smile was a frown Instead of a hug you yelled at me and told me to go to my room. The yelling soon turned into a belt across my face. My soul began to turn inward bitterness and hate was my new name. I'm 38 now, every relationship I've had has failed, that's to bad. All I've ever wanted was for prince charming to love me and live happily ever after I guess thats to much to ask. I've yet to find my soulmate if your out there, I just wanted to tell you GOODBYE!!
