Panic Dream

By Laura Dee Battle
February 16, 2015

Lately I'm forgetting to breathe
Anxiety you gotta feel to believe
I'm scared to face the sure relief
Of screams behind my broken teeth

Wish I could say my thoughts are right
To force my broken hands to fight
Without a dime I left unspent
I blindly climb a new ascent

Homeless it seems to an outsiders eyes
It's freedom where I want to die
Not all who wander are really lost
Just asking if it's worth the cost

Does it matter anymore?
I'm just like I was before
Drifting off to sober dreams
Never really what they seem

For everything I wanna be
Every you and every me
